The Backup Power Generator or Genset will kick in to supply essential power to the Data Centre during a power blackout. The Genset can be designed for N+1 redundancy. Each Genset should have enough capacity to support the entire load of the Data Centre including support equipment such as PAC and network equipment. 

A storage tank located near the Gensets will store and supply diesel fuel to the Gensets. The Gensets should be configured such that they can be taken off line and regularly tested without disruption to the power supply.
